Day 38 - Rest and play

Stop โœ‹

Drop ๐Ÿ›‹

And scroll (or rest lol) ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜ด

That feeling when everyone is either asleep or having screen time.

The list of things I could do are endless, but sometimes all I feel like doing is laying on the lounge.

So I do.

Nothing like asking my body what it may need in this moment, and honouring that.

I donโ€™t always wait until everyone is asleep or not needing me to do things for me of course.

Over the years, I have found that some of the most heart expanding and happy moments for me were when I was also finding joy in an activity with Mr F.

Recently, I started the beautiful program FLOW, by the glorious @_bridgetwood_ . One of the exercises within this course is determining where there can be a win win. As in, are there times when mother and childโ€™s values can be met in the same activity. When I completed this exercise, I was like OF COURSE that is when I feel the most lit up in my parenting and OF COURSE things get to feel fulfilling for both of us more often than I was facilitating.

Something I absolutely LOVE is chatting with friends and drinking coffee, so this week there have been several times when we have had playdates outside (Mr F values outdoor play and physical activity) with beautiful conversations (and coffee for me). And yes Miss E just hung out on the boob ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Making this approach my new intention, rather than it just happening accidently and irregularly, has made this first week of me being Mum during business hours by myself (Mitch is back at work full time) absolutely phenomenal.

Iโ€™ve left the washing, thatโ€™s a problem for another day ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ™‰ ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I am genuinely effing thriving right now (for many reasons), but honouring what I need is contributing greatly.

What are your win win activities? And also, if you donโ€™t follow Bridget or @nourishingthemother , DO IT RIGHT NOW! ๐Ÿ˜Š. Iโ€™ve been following the beautiful work of these amazing humans for nearly three years now, and they have helped me have some incredibly life changing insights about myself and my parenting.
